Step Counter: Pedometer Walk  ·  Package com.pedometer.stepcounter.dailywalk
Last updated: 4 August 2026

This policy explains what Step Counter: Pedometer Walk ("the app") does and does not do with your information. It is written to match exactly how the app actually behaves.

The short version

The app has no account and no sign-in. Your steps, water intake, sleep records and body profile are stored only on your own device and are never uploaded to us. We operate no servers and we receive no personal data from you. The only data leaving your device is what Google's advertising and billing services collect, described below.

Information stored on your device

All of the following stays in the app's private storage on your phone. We cannot see it.

WhatWhy
Step counts, distance, calories and active timeTo show your daily and historical activity
Height, weight, date of birth and genderTo calculate calories and stride length; entered by you during setup
Water intake log and hydration targetTo run the water tracker
Bedtime and wake-up recordsTo run the sleep tracker
Your goals, reminders, language and theme settingsTo keep the app configured the way you left it

Uninstalling the app deletes all of this permanently. There is no cloud copy to delete because none is ever made.

Sensors and permissions

The app does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, or access to your photos or files.

Health Connect (optional)

If you switch on Sync with Health Connect in the app's profile screen and grant permission, the app writes your daily step total into Android's Health Connect, and can read step totals recorded there by other apps. This is off by default.

Health Connect is an on-device store controlled by you, not by us. Turning this on does not send anything to us or to any server — we do not operate one. You can switch the sync off inside the app at any time, and revoke the app's access from Health Connect itself, which also lets you delete anything the app wrote.

We request only the step permissions (READ_STEPS and WRITE_STEPS). We do not request heart rate, weight, sleep, nutrition or any other health data type, and we never read health data in the background.

Advertising

The app is supported by ads served by Google AdMob. To show ads, AdMob may collect and use your device's advertising identifier, IP address, and information about how you interact with the ads. This is collected by Google, not by us, and is governed by Google's Privacy & Terms.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app shows a Google-certified consent form the first time it runs, and you choose whether personalised ads are allowed. You can change that choice at any time from Profile → Ad privacy options inside the app.

You can also reset or delete your advertising ID from your device's own settings (Settings → Google → Ads on most Android phones).

Purchases

The app offers one optional, one-time in-app purchase that permanently removes ads. Payments are handled entirely by Google Play Billing. We never see or store your name, card details or billing address. The app only records, on your own device, whether the purchase is active.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any information from them. It is a general-audience fitness tool.

Health disclaimer

Step, distance, calorie and sleep figures are estimates produced from your phone's sensors and the profile you entered. They are for general fitness awareness only and are not medical advice, not a medical device, and should not be used to diagnose or treat any condition.

Data security

Your data never leaves your device, which removes most transmission risk. On-device data is protected by Android's application sandbox and by whatever screen lock and device encryption you have enabled.

Your rights

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to export, correct or erase on your behalf. You have complete control: clear individual records inside the app, use Settings → Apps → Step Counter → Storage → Clear data to wipe everything, or uninstall the app.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted at this same address with an updated date at the top.
